I'm not much into the video games, but I gotta say, 20+ years ago I pumped a lot of quarters into the arcade machines playing that game. One of my high school buddies was great at it, and it kinda ticked me off that I couldn't beat him.
I wish I had every quarter I spent playing Defender. The controls for Asteroids are the same as those for Maelstrom (Mac) so I just whupped up on those realistic looking 'roids!
Thanks. Now I have 10,357 ways to waste time... :grumpy:
I was lucky enough to get a Microsoft adaptation of Asteroids years ago (I think I was 4 or 5), and I've loved it ever since. I'm not a big time gamer, and simple games like that amuse me Microsoft just packaged the original Asteroids, Missile Command, Tempest, Centipede, etc., but they added an option to increase the speed/number of your enemies in all of the games to make it harder.
