I happened to sit down some weeks back and rummage thru my wallet to find a lot more junk; cards, folded slips of reminders, pics but no moolah (which is typical :grumpy:).

Anyways, my Red Cross card is pretty dated and looking weathered. What the heck? I happened to find a lull in my sked and took a week-off. Unlike my past training years ago, this time I remember feeling my knees and lower back not liking the CPR drills (I think I'm better-off now but my body misses my "twenties"). It was worth going thru it again.

Those who've gone thru it, it always nice to refresh and reinforce the skills. Those who haven't, why not try it? You never know when such knowledge could be critical when out there.

Actually, they offer this training at the factory I work at. I'm supposed to have a class on Oct 13th to get certified in CPR and AED (auto heart shockers). Then with any luck, I'll get chosen for EMT training sometime in Feb.

Man its always changing too. Its good to have the updates on the new ratios, etc.....

Stormstaff, hit me up when you get ready for EMT. I will help ya out with any questions you have. Ive been doin the bambulance thing for a while.

Hey! I forgot to mention one more very ESSENTIAL consideration. There are always new updates/revisions to the ratios and protocols!

Hey J. Williams, nice to hear from an EMT and I know there are also others here as well (BTW, a real bummer about your stolen gear!) I also hope to eventually train as one too, but money's a bit tight nowadays. Hopefully sometime soon. (I've managed to do a bit of ACLS and the AED machine too but that was sometime back as well in my old firm).

You will have a ball, EMT training was a blast. I liked it alot. I had some very good instructors.

You are right. Unfortunatly AHA is in bed with the drug companies, and their proticals show that very clearly every time I renew ACLS.......
