PLEASE

- keep your money in your pocket unless.....

The Goods are ready to ship from seller

The knife is made from a maker

whatever it is your wanting to buy......buy it

Not a Promise of that item.

If you send money to a seller for items they do not have yet or have not made yet do not be upset when you dont get them.

Seems like simple rules to follow.

Just cant believe guys are still having poor deals and yet guys still send people money for promised goods.

Mark - Sorry if this is out of line but I have not responded on other threads because I dont have a dog in those so to speak and needed to speak out :)

We should not take orders, or anticipate a large steel purchase or other materials to be bought in bulk if interest exists.

I see your point, I am very carefull about who I order from but sometime we must trust people. I hate to see a customer upset that their knife is not available but the maker should give a time for delivery and stick to it unless the customer is notified and agrees.

There seem to be a couple of makers that advertise a knife as already made when its not on the bench and that really messes everyone.

Brian, I agree with you. Even if ordering from a large company have them check stock on what you are ordering. If your money is being used as venture capitol you should be aware of this upfront so that you can assess the risks to determine if the potential rewards are great enough to offset the risks.

When I built my home I did not deal with any subcontractors that wanted money upfront. If they operate a legitimate business they can afford to wait until the deal is complete for payment.

The money is the incentive. If you pay first, for a business in trouble, there is little incentive to deliver. They will be in search of the next source of money, not expense (which the delivery of your goods is).

I agree with the premise that payment and shipment should happen at near the same time!
