Remington 1253 pivot bar

I have a 1992 remake of Remington's Bullet series 1253 Guide lockback knife .
With the knife open I see the pivot pin inside about center over the backspring.
It comes out from one liner & doesn't quite reach the liner on the opposite side.
Is the pivot pin supposed to be supported at both ends?
Should it run through both liners?
Perhaps you can tell me if other lockback pivot pins are supported only on one side.
I thank you in advance
Shalom

Let's move this one over to the forum best suited to get your question answered...

Typically it would go through both liners, this will insure support for the bar on the pin. I am not familiar with this model but as a remake if there is not a hole in one liner they may have omitted it.

I would really like to know if this is how Remington made the knife and if mine is a fluke or not.
If anybody out there could open the blade , look into the knife and tell us if the pivot pin runs thru both liners or is supported on only one side I'd be very grateful.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I just acquired one of these. The pin in question is not actually a pin, it is the spring for the lock bar.
