Remington skinner

This is our version of a Remington skinner that is a custom order. It has a 5" flat ground blade of CPM S30V, sambar stag handles, tapered tang and nickel silver pins. All that is left is making the sheath, putting on the final edge and then seeing if we can get a check. These older styles we usually like to make out of a more traditional steel like 1095 and iron pins, but sometimes you have to go with the customer wishes since he is the one with the money. I bet S30V works just fine.

That is just about as sweet as they come. I know first hand that the S30V will make a fine blade. It can be a "bear" to work with (read: it laughs at sandpaper), but it holds up well.

Hope you and Charlie are doing well. Maybe we will see each other again soon.
