Remora Wraps Anyone?

Guyon do you smoke?

acute bronchitis sucks, I had it pretty bad last February for the first time.

Hope you get better soon, that crap can last along time....

No smoker. But last couple of years, seems like every time I get any sinus trouble or even a cold, it goes straight to my chest instead of staying in my head. Just one of the indignities of getting older, I guess. Anyway, I'm slowly pulling out of this. Last week, I was down to a nice dry cough. Past couple of days, cough is gone altogether. I was out sledding with the children today, and I feel good. Thanks for the thoughts.

Hey Guyon....

Great idea.....If memory serves and it may not...The late Phil Hartsfield used cotton cord to wrap his great little beasts of knives and then painted the wrap with epoxy....Better be sure you like the wrap plenty good before you squeeze the tubes though....I may try this with one of the China 13s....After SHOT Show.......Somebody PLEASE remind the doddering old guy when he gets back!!!!!!

As always thanks Guyon....

All Best...

I bought a BK7 from Amazon a few weeks ago, and I kinda of forgot about checking the sheath to see if it still came with the Remora. I was pleasantly surprised! I have another Remora that came with my BK9 that I bought a year or so ago. Might try something different with that one.

Just a basic wrap to help with the handles. Works great as a firesteel striker.

Instead of short wrapping the handle, I modified my sheath so that it still works with my wrap. I used gutted Para550 cord.

I tried doing a gutted paracord wrap on my remora but then it wouldn't fit in the BK-9 sheath so I decided to just wrap the back 1/2 of the handle and now it fits in there just fine.

if you can't tie it, melt it :)

i've been thinking of dipping the skeletonized neckers in tool dip for quite a while now. might be interesting to wrap it first to shape, then to dip it. possibly even soaking in parafin too/instead.

That sounds really cool! Please do this, if only to show off to the rest of us and say you did. Tool dip is your friend.

Bumping an old thread here, but has anyone else cord wrapped their 13's? Thinking about giving mine a go.

Just did a dyed hemp wrap on my trail hawk and it got me thinking that it'd be a cool thing for a remora. Time-willing. I'll give it a try.

Here is mine. I may mod the sheath so I can wrap the whole handle or try one of the kydex ones if MWTIC makes them.

I'm making a bunch slowly, but you might have the same clearance issue; not as bad though :D

Thanks for the post Guyon. I just scored 2 of these and was deciding what to wrap it with. I may go with waxed thread like I did on my Izula.

I like that! I still see my self wanting more handle. How do you like it long term? How did you seal it?

Cheers,
Matt
