Remove Handle from seal pup elite

I have a seal pup elite that I would like to make a custom handle for. Could someone please recommend a way to remove the factory handle. Any help would be much appreciated!

Not sure but there was a review of the Seal Team Elite where the blade was destroyed and the tester cut the handle off to show the tang. I believe it was in this forum.

I used a belt sander to remove the handle of my Seal 2000. Grind off one side, then the other side will pop off.

If you don't have a belt sander, you could probably, very carefully, crack it in half with a chisel.

Lock the handle in a vice and use a hack saw from the top down.........you will know if you hit steel, just move it over a bit.

A coping saw with an agressive toothed blade might work better.

I don't think a chisel would work. The handle on these knives is pretty tough.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I don't have a belt sander so I think I'll try a hacksaw & coping saw first as suggested.

You could probably use a dremel with the right cutting wheel.
