How To Remove remains of packaging oil from the blade

Heeelp please.
Brand new knife sat in a sheath for 3 years wrapped in packaging paper.
Took it out and the packaging oil is dry stuck to it. Tried gun cleaner doesn't work. (Picture doesn't get uploaded from Google drive into the post so here is the link). Thank you

WD 40 is your friend. Let it soak a while.

If WD-40 doesn't loosen it up, you can try Kroil, a penetrating oil that solves all kinds of problems. Very handy stuff to have around.

The lighter distillates of oil evaporate first, so Kroil or light machine oil "rehydrates" the dried stuff without corroding everything else.

Brake cleaner. The red can. Don't get it on the finished wood though. I'd spray it on a rag

kerosene/mineral spirits/paint thinner/gasoline/whatever's handy

WD 40, acetone, lacquer thinner, 90% rubbing alcohol. Sometimes you have to try different things as one might cut the coating better than others.
