I've got a strider SMF and recently during sharpening I put several light scrateches in the blade during a reprofile. Is there any feasible way to remove or hide the scratches?
I'd guess that you'll have to either polish it... which would remove the stone wash all together but hide the scratches or have it professionally stone washed again... but I personally think that if you use a knife it's gonna get scratched and so I personally wouldn't worry about it. But that's me.
Hope this isnt hijacking the original post, but can someone describe stonewashing to me?
Can it be done at home, like in a "rock tumbler"?
Is the finish comparable to sand/bead blasting (i.e. roughness, matte or satin)?
