im just gonna tell you what i think when i removed the grip. im no expert just a regular dude but a few things bothered me here an maybe you guys can offer an explanation....the size of the tang doesnt really bother me, i dont think its an issue but the split seems odd....btw the split goes all the way through

1- why is there a split at the base of the tang??? shouldnt it be solid????
2- tang looks small compared to the rest of the knife.

Thats actually fairly beefy for a hidden tang knife, I wouldn't worry about the split in the lanyard hole, seems like just a step in the manufacturing process in an area that doesn't take much stress.

I agree that it is fairly beefy, and I like that OKC rounded the area where tang meets handle to reduce any stress risers.:)

I was just wondering what OP did after removing the handle. I thought putting a D guard on there would be cool but that would be impractical; what about a longer handle?

My first post is on a five year old thread! :D

i love my sp8 , really cool bush-cleaning tool ,and it works great like natas.
