Just curious, is there a tang and are the flares for the metal part of the key hole integral to the blade? Construction of this piece has sparked my interest. Mortised tang? Very nice blade.

This is an integral, one bar of steel. There is no tang, the handle is pressure fitted into the keyhole. It will not coming apart unless you beat it with a big hammer.
