And then there is this gem from 1964, a cult classic for many years......

This movie is notable for a couple things (and only a couple things).....Its the first on-screen appearance of Pia Zadora, and also introduces for the first time Santas wife, Mrs Claus.

I think Elf is a great all around one that can be enjoyed by all. It has real laughs despite being PG (like the scene where he thinks the guy with Dwarfism is an elf 🤣 ) and is just all around a feel good movie. Honestly I'm not sure what other actor than Ferrell could have pulled off that role so well, with his true innocence being the crux of the humor.

Speaking of humor, the scene towards the beginning of Scrooged where he shoots the ghost of his former partner and then his drink comes out of him like a fountain Looney Tunes style gets me every time. 🤣

Now, speaking of Looney Tunes, I'm a huge fan of Chuck Jones' animation, so the original Grinch is always a must watch.

Not a movie, just a recording, but there's a version of A Christmas Carol that deserves a mention. It has Jonathan Winters voicing every role. A tremendous performance. They used to play it on NPR every Christmas night, and since my Grandmother's house was about an hour away from mine, I have many fond memories of listening to it on the way home.

A Christmas Story

In no particular order:

- In Bruges;
- The Lion in Winter (the original from 1968);

- Elf.
