Hello folks,

I have a quick question about removing anodizing and thought I might enlist the help of you knowledgeable folks to help me. I was to remove the blue colouring off of a Sebenza's thumb stud and back spacer and am wondering if there is a better method other than just carefully sanding it off with very fine grit sandpaper. I know I can send it back to CRK, but it will be costly from Canada and I'd like to try and do it myself. Are there any issues or risks i should be concerned with if I attempt such a change? Any assistance or guidance you may be able to offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Anodizing can be removed from aluminum with oven cleaner. Not sure about titanium.

As above,Sodium Hydroxide based oven cleaner(the gel type) will strip anodising, dip, leave and wipe. You may well have to polish afterwards though.

Commonly known as lye here or Drano. You must protect your eyes and have lots of ventilation. Outdoors might be a good spot for experimenting. Best of luck!!
