Removing fake hamon

Hey all, i bought a JW International sword on ebay. I like it so far but would like to remove the fake hamon. ANy help on what i need to do to remove it would help. I believe its acid etched or something. Thanks in advance
 
I imagine Flitz or Simichrome , anything similiar would work.
Maybe used in conjunction with the finest steel wool you can get , get a 2nd opine on that though , do not want you to ruin your sword with scratches.
 
I think i'll try that. I got simichrome and some super fine wool steel. Even if i do scratch it, ill probably be able to get it out. Thanks
