Removing oil from pivot/bearings

I usually just disassemble, but if I don't, then I'll use lighter fluid to rinse out the pivot. It works well. Relube and you're good to go!

Almost sounds like you have fallen into the Over Lube trap. Just one drop of lube on the pivot is all that is needed. Any extra runs down between the scales and liners. Wet lube will attract pocket lint etc. Dry lube works well. Compressed air, keyboard air works well for blowing out or just pucker up and blow.

I haven’t over lubed. I am just wanting to try this highly spoken about KPL. I also don’t want to mix different weight lubes is all.

Taking apart a spyderco doesn't void the warranty. Damage from disassembly voids it. So take the thing apart, it's not that hard. Clean it with rubbing alcohol and lube SPARINGLY! Reassemble and enjoy.

As for the ultramar... Take it apart too. Lol

You are correct about the Spyderco! I misinterpreted their warranty/repair. So.... I will be taking it apart:thumbsup:

As for the Ultramar... Reate says no to user disassembly.

Good deal! Love my spydercos, even pimping my para 3 with blue ti hardware. Just be careful and use common sense!

Where did you get the blue hardware? I think if I can find it it would match my bead.

From a guy in Australia. He makes it himself, and at a really affordable price. He's on ebay, I think his name is xxxadrenalinxxx. I had one of the clip screws break on me, so I went ahead and ordered the stop pin and barrel spacer like I should have done in the first place and he's sending me another 3 clip screws.

He makes lanyard tubes as well, but he was out last week. But you can get them from BladeHQ. He was the only person I've found making hardware for the para 3. Wasn't sure if the pm2 hardware would fit, and he was cheaper anyway! Takes a little while coming from oz, but it's worth it.
