Well today after it sat in the sun for a bit it became nearly impossible to open. It takes a hefty push to close the thing now and I still hear that grating sound. I don't w ant to dent the brass anymore by doing car key prying to the pivot, so what's a good way to loosen it up?

Vivi, try flushing it out with WD 40, use air blasts from a compressor(if not available, they sell compressed air in cans) followed by a good lube oil and more air.
I doubt that the brass bolsters would do much of anything to the blade, that stainless is much harder that the bolsters. That said, what you might have is an issue with the rocker and the blade after putting it in the vise
Sitting in the sun, the different metals will expand because of the heat and they do this at different rates.

Can buck supply a "coffin" shaped box?
It's doing pretty good now. Cleaned my nails, skinned some carrots, made shavings for fire, cut through some steel mesh etc today, did just fine. Action is still stiff so I'll have to save up for some lubricant, but I think it'll survive my wrath. Either way I plan on buying at least 2 or 3 110's, plus I'll probably get more to give away as gifts. I'm in love with this knife all over again.
