Renting forge time?

If someone wanted to try their hand at creating their own custom blade but didn't have their own forge. Is there a resource for people to find local blacksmiths to "rent tine" on their forge?

Just curious. I'm in Southern California.
 
How far south? They have a hammer in Visalia. Usually in Oct. Or you can find a local smith who will help you out. If you narrow things down a bit I might be able to get you in contact with someone.
 
If you get onto the American Bladesmith Society website they have a list of rated Smith's. Not sure if there are any really close. If you are willing to travel and compensate for time and materials it may open things up a bit.
