Renting shop space

So I live in Boston. Brookline to be specific. I'm in a brownstone, and I don't have much in the way of shop space. I make slippies, and I'm still pretty novice. I'm no where near the production level some guys on the site have reached. My "shop" consists of a drill press, craftsman 2x42 grinder, a spindle sander, bench vice, and a piece of train rail. Am I crazy to be considering renting a workbench somewhere? The alternative is to drive 2 hours each way to my parent's house everytime I want to work on something. Do any of you guys rent shop space? Any urban knifemakers? I know there is a yuppie somewhere who isn't using their garage for anything, I just don't know how to go about finding someone. Any thoughts boys?

I found a 500 sq ft shop a few miles from my house for $310 a month including electricity, but I had to spend a lot of money getting it wired up correctly for my press and oven. It was not easy to find cheap space because my county is as densly populated as Boston if not worse and the land prices have been crazy of late, so a lot of the newer space available is quite expensive. I thnk J.D. Smith has shop space there in Boston somewhere other than at his home.

Thanks guys. The storage space idea didn't occur to me. I'll give craigslist a try too.
