REP WEEKEND at SMOKY MOUNTAIN. KNIFE WORKS.........

I am driving through Nashville sometime friday or saturday on my way to Ohio, looks like a small side trip to Sevierville from there.. may have to pop in to say hi

Edit: google maps says it is only 3 hours away from my original route... this is very doable.

Would love to make it but the drive is a bit long for us - lol!

Hope everyone has a good time. Would love to see pics!

I think Ang and I are going to pop in and say howdy sometime Saturday. After all, I haven't been to SMKW in two whole weeks :p Will try to remember to take some pics and bring a jar of bread'n'butter pickles for Uncle E :).

Please do NOT forget the Bread & Butter pickles....... Are you going to Bowies hammer in?....

I wasn't aware of a hammer-in. What/when/where?

ETA: this one? Hmmm... I should swing by there and check it out... thanks for the heads up!

That is the one and it is almost on the way to Smoky......

Cool! I've never been to a full-on hammer-in before. From what I looked up, Wayne Coe will be there; if nothing else I'd love to chat with him for a bit. The wife and kid and I visited his shop a couple years ago and he made Angie a beautiful steel rose while we watched.

See ya Saturday... we already set aside some pickles :)

The Becker subforum is the coolest place on the Internet.

While only at SMKW briefly I had the chance to chat with Jeff and Pat of ESSE with James Gibson and Ethan, DMT, Coast, and Victorinox reps, Morakniv National Marketing Mgr. and Work Sharp VP, Bruce Voyles. Ron Lake was there with Coast and I had a nice chat with him.

Depending upon how the Aristotle forge is going at Bowies I might run back up.

I remembered to bring the pickles. Had a great time and learned a ton talking with Ethan, as always. Kim Johnson from Ka-Bar was very friendly and informative, too. I got a Ka-Barley, so now I can be one of the cool kids :D I also gave Angie the full tour of the Museum upstairs; she'd been to SMKW before but somehow never made it up there. I'll get some pics up later today when I'm actually fully awake.

ETA: pics are up here.

I visited today (Sunday). Officially met Mr. Becker and picked up a few things while I was there. Ethan even gave a sharpening demonstration with his trusty SAK. I had to whip mine out. Worth the drive and enjoyed my time there.

Darn, just missed you, I was there Saturday. Would have like to meet you 22-rimfire.

What a good time......

Rim fire and Mountain Mist were a pleasure to talk too, as were what seemed six thousand other people who took time to talk to me...... I cannot tell you how much fun it is for me to get the opportunity to talk to so many like minded people....Had a blast......... Had dinner with the ESSE crowd on Saturday night.....Always a hoot........ Good time Sunday until my throat and speech mechanisms seized up and said"Go home Ethan and shut up"....... I did......

Thanks to all of you who showed up.........

E
