At any rate... to the original poster: I believe that FAKE watches are garbage. I guess a homeage is ok, because they dont CLAIM to be the expensive brand, but they still completely copy other brands styling (almost EXACTLY), but just stamp their own name on it. That is why a homeage is ethically fine for most people, but it's not for me. Also, I have friends with homage watches, and I don't think the quality is the same.

Save some money and buy a good high end watch. i am currently saving for a Rolex Explorer II. Its will take me 8 months or more but I want it and I will have one. I currently wear a Marathon JSAR. The JSAR is only a $650 watch but is is rated for the same depths as Alpine's Omega and it looks just as good, hell i'd bet its a lot tougher than a Rolex, Brieitling or Omega.

Fake watches are for fake people. I don't buy fake knives and I don't buy fake watches, and I doubt the mods on this forums likes discussions about fake knives.

Buy a Seiko, Seiko Monster or SKX007 are good entry models to mechanical/automatic watches. There's also lots of micro brands that give great value for money: Deep Blue, Halios, Helson, MKII, etc.

The only problem with saving for one of the really high-end watches is simply that a lot of folks can't do it. Might be why the OP mentioned replicas.

For me, for example, the most expensive watch I've ever bought for myself is an Orient Mako- right around a hundred. The Renato I'm wearing right now was a gift- titanium with a sapphire crystal, retails for about $350. The Mako was a stretch at the time. The Renato would simply be impossible.

I'll echo the advice of getting a decent Seiko. Dang right. The SKX007's have that "diver" look and they are legendary quality. The Seiko Monsters have their own "look" but fall into the diver scheme with their unidirectional bezel, domed crystal, etc. And talk about wrist presence! An orange Monster on a Watchadoo bracelet is a masterpiece. An AFFORDABLE masterpiece.

I totally agree that you should stay away from fakes. And I would also add that you should steer clear of the lower-end homages as they are usually ran outta the same factory that makes the fakes, they just have a "sterile" dial. Stick with Seiko's excellent diver lineup. They've got something for everyone. Autos, quartz, Kinetic. All of 'em will take a beating. And Yobokies (or whatever his name is) can do just about anything you'd care to think of if you want customization. Hands, relume, custom bezels. The guy is the real deal when it comes to Seikos.

Be careful. Watches are more addictive than knives. More expensive too. It's a sickness. :)

all watches are about a look on your wrist. If it was about most accurate the radio /quartz/atomic watches would rule. Fake or homage watches are a way to get the look without the $$$$ or the quality. So if look is all you care about it really is a no brainer, a fake/homage saves you a ton of $$$. But if you are one to buy into the intangibles (as I am) then they are weak substitute.

With that said I would love a copy/homage that looks like http://www.mbandf.com/horological-machines/hm4-thunderbolt/index.php

Hell the box it comes in is uber cool.

But is it worth 100K?

I bought a russian copy of the WW2 German Observer watch to see if I would like the big watch before I bought the fortis. Long story short I stayed with the russian version.

Ok, that thing is insane. I'd love to have that but it's not worth a hundred grand. Not a watch on this planet worth That much.

Your right. But if a person really wants something they will find a way. I am sure you can get what you need for your price range. Instead Of buying something right now, try saving for a few months. Put away twenty bucks here and there and don't touch it and soon enough you'll have a few hundred to go get what you really want.

You'd be supprised. When you're talking about high HIGH end watches $100,000 can be middle of the road. Check out some Patek Phillipe or Chopard watches just to name a few. I think it's the same as knives really, a lot of people would say that there's not a knife on the planet worth $400 +...but do we all agree??

They're complete trash! There is absolutly no comparison whatsoever. If you cant afford a couple thousand dollar watch you're much better off getting a used omega or one of the lower priced semi luxery watches like a tag. These can be had for around $1000 if you shop around. I bought a breitling steelfish a few years ago brand new. Everyday i look down at my wrist and am instantly a little happier. I dont regret it at all. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS WATCH! The only thing is once you get one you'll want more. But on the plus side if you choose breitling they send you a gift every time you buy a new watch and the gifts get better with each one. Also they have a program where you can trade in your old watch and add the value towards a better one. So you can start out with a low end model and work your way into one of the really nice ones. The fakes will break after a while. And they cause me to have allergic reactions. I had one when i was 19 or so. Trust me they are garbage. Honestly you'd be better off with a seiko. And then you wont be a fraud.

i've bought fake rolex's when i lived in NY; paid $8-10 for them in chinatown...and yes, they are crappy quartz fakes that don't last very long because they either die or they fall apart...the ONLY reason i bought them for myself was to "backup" the REAL rolex model i did own...i really did not want to wear my real rolex on an everyday basis living in NYC; i'd wear the fake most of the time and wear the real one when it was "necessary"...i now have a model that i have never seen a fake made of, so no more fake rolex's for me...

in addition i used to buy a LOT of fake rolex's to give to friends for gifts, and they LOVED them!!!...but i don't live in ny anymore so that's all done...

the rolex only come out when i need to dress up; when i do put on a watch these days it's a timex ironman model(s)...

i had a purchase in May in China , all goods are good quality , the only complaint is that i received my watches 17 days later ,
but the Customer Servicer ,Alex told me that i can receive my packages within 2 weeks , i think he lied to me , the lucky thing is that items are prefect,
maybe you can have a look at their website , [Removed] , a very slow site , but beautiful
