Report from Oregon!

Great stuff. :thumbup: I really like that barlow.

Regarding the "Our Winner" etch on the Empire - I wonder if they considered that jack with those handles to be their top quality piece at the time and the etch is expressing that sentiment.

It would be nice to know for sure, Nate!

Being in the right place at the right time; A lot of people start viewing the Oregon show from the corner where I have my table, and this fellow came in and opened up a roll of 20-30 Case redbone knives from the 70s or so. I think I bought the two best ones he had for reasonable dough;
Two Premium 6347s, an XX with a California clip ca. 1940-1964
OKCA12j.jpg

and a ten-dot, made in 1970.

They both have nickel liners, and nice bone handles. The XX is near mint, the 10 - dot has some handling patina.

I know some of you fine folks were in Oregon!:thumbup:
Why not show us what you found!!:rolleyes:

Let's see some harvest from that fertile farm!!:)

Check the shields on those two knives Charlie with a strong magnifying glass. I think you'll find that at least one if not both shields are pinned. As a matter of fact, it looks like the pins are showing on the shield of the 10-dot. Nice knives

Definitely some nice grabs. I made it to the show on saturday and was able to look around for 4 hours. Awesome show. It was even better than last year.

They all look great Charlie. I love that Honk Falls
Stockman. It's a dandy! And of course all those Jack
knives. Congrats...

Jason

Sounds like a good time. I have not been to a knife show ever. I haven't been to a gun show in years.

The last one I went to, I made the mistake of bringing my wife and boy. They were ready to go before we made it to then end of the first row of tables!

Congrats Charlie and Charles. Nice hauls!

Here are some old ads to go along with that Honk Falls.

The artist seems to have inverted the cattle knife... or it has a shield on both sides.

Charlie, that Honk falls Stockman is a sweetheart of a knife - thats for sure, I dream of coming across one knife like this-and yet you have bought home half a dozen....my congratulations on your good buying.
Again, another knife that stands out is that Barlow, Im wondering if maybe the jigging was done by hand on this particular series...whatever or should I say however it was done, the scales are simply beautiful...what is the close length of this Barlow?...is it the scan? it seems a relatively large knife...I do like it very much.
The main blade on the Stag Schrade Cut Jack, is at this time and moment my absolute perfection of a blade...everything just screams aesthetic perfection, and all I want in a blade...I envy you owning such a monumental knife...I really do Charlie..man I knew there was going to be mouth watering stuff...
To end my usual rant and wasteful ravings, Terry Davis must have gone all out in thinking and planing to make a superior knife...I honestly truely believe he succeeded, a lovely, lovely knife.
Charlie, well done and thank you for giving us such massive inspiration my friend.

The Honk, and two Schrades above were uncovered out in the parking lot, before the show opened on Friday, along with this Stag Schrade Cut Jack;
