Sent this to a friend of mine to have some additional pics taken. They are the first three shown below and represent the true color of the material. It changes to the more reddish tone in direct sunlight. Pricing this to get a quick sale, well below what I paid and you'd be hard pressed to find a better made traditional for the money.
I special ordered this from Ryu early this year and took delivery a couple months ago. This is a one off and I don't even think I've seen another one of his knives in the material.
Specs are as follows:
Closed length - 3.5"
Blade length - 2.5"
Scales - Burgundy linen micarta
Steel - ATS-34, hand satin finish
Bolsters - Integral, stainless
Walk and talk on this knife is truly out of this world and exactly what you'd expect from the maker. Nice medium pull that can be pinched open. Liquid smooth travel and locks open with with a nice thwack. Absolutely no hint of play in any direction, positive lock release that's not too stiff or flimsy. Spring is flush in both positions and the blade will not hit it if you let it fall closed. (This is a pet peeve of mine). Blade is perfectly centered as well.
This knife was carried alone in a watch pocket on and off for a month or so. I'd guess it spent about ten days in the pocket total and I can't remember using it as anything other than a letter opener. The only thing keeping this from being totally mint is a tiny mark on the bolster that I was able to capture after several frustrating minutes of trying. It is shown in the last picture below and is incredibly faint. The only way to see it is if the light catches it as shown.
Comes with a zippered pouch from the maker.
$OLD all in via PayPal. Price includes insured shipping anywhere in the USA. Will consider international shipping on a case by case basis.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking!
