Good morning folks.

This is little vest Bowie that I recently finished up. The handle is a beautiful chatoyant piece of stabilized Ringed Gidgee. The W2 blade shows an active hamon in the forced patina... not an easy trick.

The price for this one is REPOSTED ELSEWHERE shipped within the US. Please contact me concerning shipping outside the US. Buyer is responsible for determining the legality of this knife within their state or country of residence. I prefer payment via Paypal. If interested -- or if you just have some questions or comments -- feel free to shoot me a PM or email. My goal is 100% satisfaction; so if for any reason the buyer is not happy with this knife, please ship it back undamaged within 30-days and I'll send a full refund.

NOTE: The price above includes the sheath pictured.

^^^ yes please provide more blade shots. would like to see shots of spine, swedge, and finger guard area. whats the width of the blade and size of hidden tang? Im very interested in this knife. Very nice work

Hey Erin, really great knife!
I have a question I hope you don't mind me asking here in your thread. Do you stabilize your RG to get better chatoyance? Better durability? All of the above? The reason I'm asking IIRC it does pretty well without stabilization.

I think you need a couple more blade shots Erin , just my thoughts .

I'll see if I can come up with something.

I'll see if I can shoot a few more details. In the meantime, here are a couple of photos of the blade during construction. You can get an idea of the tang size from them.

I have quite a few blocks of Ringed Gidgee, and this is the only block that was stabilized. I chose to use it because the size, color and figure all seemed to fit the requirements of this handle. I don't think that the stabilization does anything to improve the chatoyance. This handle was finished out with multiple applications of Tru Oil.

Like you, I also have heard that Gidgee is quite stable and doesn't really benefit much stabilization... but I can't comment first-hand, as I haven't worked with any of my untreated blocks to date.

Hey guys...
I didn't have time for any additional detail photos, but I did add a short video to the original post.
