Hi all,
It is time for a bit of spring cleaning so I have several fixed blades for sale today, all from a variety of makers.
Unless specified in the individual descriptions, all knives should be considered used. I feel that I have discounted these knives pretty significantly but I am open to reasonable offers, worse I can say is, "no thanks". All prices include USPS Priority shipping - international is ok but will need to discuss any additional costs prior to making a deal. Payment is preferred via PayPal G&S, I will consider other forms on a case by case basis. I am mostly looking to sell but am open to interesting trade offers.
I reserve the right to sell to whom I wish but the general rule of thumb is the first to contact me here or via PM gets dibs. Thanks for looking!
Now for the knives.
Erickson Knifeworks
Bowie
- 52100 Steel
- OD Green Micarta with Walnut Bolsters and Black G10 pins
- OAL: 12"
- Blade: 6 1/4"
- Thickness: 3/16"
- Brown leather sheath
- Condition: Unused
- Original cost: (?)
- Price: $255 SOLD
Kephart
- Vanadis 4E Steel
- Bog Oak w/ Honduran Rosewood Burl and bronze pins
- OAL: 10 1/4"
- Blade: 5"
- Brown leather sheath
- Condition: Unused
- Original Cost: $355
- Price: $285
Siegle
Medium Chopper (I can't recall what Bill calls this one)
- 5160 Steel
- Black (maybe grey?) canvas micarta scales
- OAL: 14" (just shy)
- Blade: 9 1/8"
- Thickness: 1/4"
- Tan kydex sheath (no belt loop but I believe Bill spaces his eyelets for standard Tek-locks)
- Condition: Used. Has original edge but shows some patina, spotting and marks from use. Though this was shiny and new when I got it, Bill does like to test his designs out and take them out in the wilderness and beat on them a bit. I got this one in a trade with him so I am not certain what its full history is but there are some marks on the spine where it appears to have been beaten through some stuff, possibly with a hammer or something.
- Original Cost: (Trade)
- Price: $225 SOLD
J. J. Smith
Mountain Man EDC
- W2 Steel w/ hamon
- Desert Ironwood scales w/ nickel silver corby bolts
- OAL: 9"
- Blade: 4 3/4"
- Thickness: 1/8" with tapered tang
- Black Holstex sheath
- Condition: Unused. Very nice knife - I will not be sad if I get to keep this one.
- Original Cost: (?)
- Price: $255 SOLD
JK Knives
Hudson Bay
- O1 Steel
- Walnut scales with brass pins
- OAL: 12 1/4"
- Blade: 7 1/4"
- Thickness: 3/16"
- No Sheath
- Condition: Used. Still has original edge but shows patina, spotting, and marks from light use - mostly from prepping a couple of fires.
- Additional comments: John's knives are a bit rough around the edges but they are hidden gems - his O1 treatment is superb and makes for tough-as-nails knives.
- Original Cost: $285
- Price: $185
Herters Improved Bowie
- O1 Steel
- Ebony Scales with aluminum pins
- OAL: 9 1/2"
- Blade: Just shy of 5"
- Thickness: 3/32"
- Sturdy black leather sheath
- Condition: Unused
- Original Cost: $204
- Price: $155
Puukko
- O1 Steel
- Bloodwood with black liners and aluminum pin and lanyard hole
- OAL: 8 1/2"
- Blade: 4"
- Thickness: 1/8"
- No Sheath
- Condition: Used. Still has original edge but shows patina, some spotting, and marks from light use.
- Original Cost: $200
- Price: $125 Traded
Tony Mont
Heavy Duty Camper
- 8670 Steel
- Oak w/ carbon fiber pins
- OAL: 10.62"
- Blade: 5.51"
- Thickness: 3/16"
- Brown leather sheath
- Condition: Unused but has a small dent in the wood near the butt of the knife and some spotting on the blade.
- Additional comments: There is something odd with the finish of the knife. I believe it was intentional from the maker but the flats look all scuffed up in certain lighting.
- Original Cost: (?)
- Price: $125 SOLD
Bark River Knife and Tool
Edwin Forrest Bowie
- A2 Steel
- Elk Scales w/ brass fittings and pins
- OAL: 17"
- Blade Length: 12 1/4"
- Thickness:
- Comes with sturdy leather sheath with the optional EEP Leather Protection upgrade
- Condition: Unused with some possible sheath marks on the blade and some dings on the leather from bin storage.
- Additional comments: For the purposes of full disclosure, this knife was a disappointment to me. Though the grind is nice and thin, is is pretty wonky, which is made all the more apparent on such a long blade. Plus, the shape of the Elk scales is likely more conducive to a left-handed user (good thing the sheath is ambidextrous....)
- Original Cost: $357.41
- Price: $255
Teddy II
- A2 Steel
- Stacked leather handle with brass nickel silver fittings
- OAL: 13 1/4"
- Blade: 8"
- Thickness:
- Comes with sturdy leather sheath with the optional EEP Leather Protection upgrade
- Condition: Has been carried and used. Leather handle shows some wear, likely from rubbing against stuff while on my belt. Some patina on the blade and the sheath shows signs of belt carry and storage.
- Original Cost: $292.41
- Price: $225 Trade Pending
CPE Knives
Kephart
- Magnacut Steel
- Alumilite and Wood Burl scales w/ black liners and pins
- OAL: 8 3/4"
- Blade: 4 3/8"
- Thickness: 1/8"
- Sturdy brown leather sheath with tooling
- Condition: Unused
- Original Cost: $280
- Price: $245
Patrick Doyle
Birdwell Bowie
- S35VN Steel w/ Black DLC
- Green linen micarta with orange and black G10 liners and hammered fasteners
- OAL: 8 3/8"
- Blade: 4"
- Thickness: 1/8"
- Black leather sheath with pocket clip
- Condition: Unused
- Additional Comments: Great little EDC fixed blade. Has a very thinly ground blade and seems like it would make for an excellent cutter. Though it was my first foray into buying from an Instagram maker, Patrick was a pleasure to deal with. The handle design just doesn't suit my big mitts so hopefully my loss can be someone else's gain.
- Original Cost: $485
- Price: $435 SOLD
Work Tuff Gear
Apex
- SK85 Steel w/ Tiger Stripe Etch
- Orange/Black G10
- OAL: 18.2"
- Blade: 12.1"
- Thickness: .23"
- Black kydex sheath with belt loop. It also comes with a cloth zippered case.
- Condition: Unused
- Additional Comments: I bought this directly from Julio Diez who is the designer of this knife. It came in two different finishes - the satin and the tiger striped etched.
- Original Cost: $310 (The satin version can be had on the site for $279. Not sure if my cost was more due to buying direct from Julio or if the etched version was more expensive)
- Price: $265
