Thank you. This one is a bit thin for a fuller. Already light with a good balance I normally use the fuller to adjust the weight and balance on the thicker pieces.
 
That Bog Oak looks and feels great ... You said it's European and was very old, Paul ? If it's the same as on my knife ....
Thank you. Yes it is from the same batch. I ordered enough bog oak for around 100 knives last year from a couple small businesses that did their own harvesting in Ukraine. About half of it was individually carbon dated to around 5500 years and the rest was random cuts from bigger projects that varied from 1000 to 5500 years old. If I remember right your knife was made using one of the dated 5500 blocks. This one is from the other batch so I am not 100% sure of its age. The way it was explained to me is the darker the block is the older it probably is. Some of the blocks are very blond and some are almost pure black. I think the handle on this knife is probably somewhere in the middle on the age.
