Ok
Many months later...
I got several Queens
All of then had ok bevels and a couple of passes on an extra fine DMT brought them up to sharp.
Couple of days ago I got a DMT Alignment Jig, it comes with a course, fine, and extra fine DMTs.
I worked a single blade trapper at 20 deg.
Started with the course and worked up to extra fine.
So the DMT Alignment Jig is excellent.
I highly recomend it.
Rebeveling a D2 blade by hand is easy work (I will be ordering an Extra Course DMT).
The bevel is clean and crisp.
Working up to the extra fine give a razor sharp hone.
( I have laughed at folk whittleing hair, but straight off the jig I played at whittleing hair, and I was so suprised to be able to whittle hair!!)
Back to the Queen D2 blade.
Rebeveled the blade is like night and day.
As I said a couple of passes with an extra fine DMT on the factory edge brought it up to sharp.
Rebeveled, the knife is now very sharp.
It is like a new level.
So off I went and spent the next couple of hours and rebeveled all my Queen blades from the factory edge to about 20 deg.
So it is well worth to rebevel a Queen from the factory edge.
And the DMT Alignment Jig to do it.
