Repurposing old knife

I was given this old knife:

It was in rough shape so I soaked it in vinegar for 24 hours to remove the rust and found that it was pretty pitted. I decided to cut it down to make an EDC fixed blade. Here is the blade after cutting:

Next I sanded the handle:

Then I coated it with BLO:

It's drying overnight and I'll finish the blade tomorrow. I'll be making a sheath from an old belt as well. I'll post more pics as I finish it up.

I kept the rest of the blade and I'll probably make it into a skinning or mini fillet knife.
