Reputable Dealer?

Yep. I did. (you still can find my story in good, bad, ugly.
anyway bottom line: costumer service non exsistant, if something goes wrong you'll end up writing tons of e-mails and geting no answer. I'll never will be ordering from him again.
Better try www.knifeworks.com, www.newgraham.com or similar sites. they have good prices and good people to talk with.

I actually have had a much different experience.

About 2 yrs back when the BK&T was first coming out for Camillus I sent an e-mail to ask if they were in stock yet. The next day I got an e-mail confirming that they were on hand and I immediately ordered a BK&T Companion and Magnum Camp from discountknives.com. I was sent the Companion and the MachAx. I sent an e-mail stating that I received the wrong Knife and that I would like the one that I ordered. I promptly (next day I think) received an e-mail saying that I would receive the Magnum Camp and a postage pre-paid box to send the MachAx back in. With in a week I had the Magnum Camp in my hand and the MachAx in the mail.

Now that being said, I will admit that the order was incorrect in the first place, and it was probably 2 yrs ago, so maybe there is someone else running it now, I’m not sure, but I thought the customer service was excellent. I think if memory serves me (because I don’t have any of the e-mail anymore), that I dealt with Brian.

I have to agree, discount knives isn't bad at all.

I've ordered from them twice and got both of my shipments on a timely basis. actually, i JUST got my bearclaw from them today. not a good knife, but certainly a good distributor.

i think discountknives is a tip top business. at least I've never had a run-in with them.

Can't say DiscountKnives gets a gold star from me. Difficulty getting timely responses to e-mail inquiries, slow processing of orders, and no phone number, left me (the customer) in the dark too much for comfort. Items weren't shipped when promised (which created a domino cascade of problems for me). I cancelled my order and probably won't use DiscountKnives anytime soon.

I ended up ordering my Ontario RTAK from Roger at Bayou LaFourche Knife Works (www.KnifeWorks.com), for $7 more than DiscountKnives. Roger had it in the mail, with e-mail confirmation and tracking number the same day! I should be receiving it in a few days.

For the hassle free processing and peace of mind, I think the extra $7 was worth it.
