Anyone else up for having the Rep. point system back up again? I kinda thought it was a cool idea and was sad when Spark pulled it mainly because of us.:( It seems to work fairly well on the other forum and it was also eliminated there at one time but brought back. That's why I didn't participate in any of the stuff that was going on over here and was just about to warn everyone when it got zapped. So I say give us one more chance!:)

They had a "Reputation" point system that was setup to where people could give you points for positive posting and what not so for every time you got a certain number of points you got a little green box also called chicklets. They could also subtract points for neg. postings.
 
While I agree that we were the forum that brought that system to a crashing halt, we were not the first to abuse it. You could always tell who posted porn in the Cove by who had the most chicklets.
 
More chicklets was meant to imply that you're a valued (and therefore trustworthy) member of BladeForums. If done right, it could be a very helpful system.

Yep, except for the hit-and-run red chiklet bandits, all of the real chicklet action was for porn posting in the P.C.

In general, I say good riddance.

(It was, however, fun to realize that after I went Gold I could see the identity of the snivelly little worm of an old codger that gave me that anonymous red chicklet.)

Maybe not but it is somewhat of a reliable rep. tool especially since not everyone sells here and that's basically the only tool we have to verify the persons reputation.

Yes, it has its pluses and minuses for sure.
Thing is, it almost invariably gets screwed up in the way it's implemented.
 
The simple fact was, that no matter how much chiclet abuse went on, those few people who gained a string of red chiclets richly deserved them. The main complainer about the chiclets was a complete moron who has since been banned. The best part about chiclets was getting amusing little messages from those supplying the chiclets.

And it was not this forum that abused the chiclets, it was the chiclet whoring thread in the cove. . . This forum got accused because the non-paying complainers who were pissed that they were missing out on the fun can't see the cove.

Sounds like if the system is reinstituted it could use some serious tweaking or modifications.
