The system has the same problems as any other system. It's open to abuse, misuse, ignorance and apathy. If I want to know if a person is a mindless cretin or a smart guy with good opinions I'll read a few of his posts and make up my own mind...

I have NO IDEA how I would go about logging on to your User CP to see your rep points or who gave them to you.

The value of rep points given depends on who gives them. If some guy who signed up last week dings you, it won't have any effect. If I ding you, your eyeballs will fall out and fungus will grow on your toenails.

Of course, if you think about it, you will realize that it's like spitballs in grade school. It has no effect on you unless you want it to.

If your friends toss you a green chicklet, smile and send them one in return. If some mall ninja hits you with a red, kick it aside and laugh at the anonymous little guy. He doesn't want you to know who he is or why he hit you, because he knows he's worthless.
