Please feel free to slap my hand if this post is out of line but I just noticed that the reputation points are missing. Ooops - then I read Sparks message. I thought we were using the chiclets to comment favorably or unfavorably about something a person posted, word thought or deed. Maybe I'm dumb but I didn't notice any abuse. Is there anybody else who feels this way or am I alone. BTW, the rep points are nice but being an adult I can live without them.

it's really not surprising. Give someone somthing good and useful and before long they will destroy it or pervert it into something it was never meant to be. I kind of liked my big chest of medals. We gave freely here in the cantina, but that's not surprising. It's full of good folks here. It's shame that they are gone. i can live without them, but i really liked the feedback i got from my peers. Sometimes, just a nice little comment like a pos rep point and an attaboy can go a long way to making one's day better.
At any rate, Spark is the boss. Always has been and I will support whatever he says.

I believe that the abuse being referred to was primarily occurring elsewhere. Don't sweat it.

Spark's sticky is visble in other forums too, and may not be aimed at us in particular... fairly sure, in fact from the content.

Now I guess post count is the closest thing we have to a reputation score.

Check out my post count.

If you didn't know any better, you'd think I was a well respected member of the forum. :)

I don't really think he meant the HI forum here. Too bad some of the others abused it. I see his point.

I kinda liked leaving folks little notes with the points.

Sorta like the chocolate on the pillow at night after the bed was made up for the day. Not necessary, but nice.

I think the children are out of school and playing on the internet with their computers. Like the young barbarians of every generation, they gleefully destroy things they don't understand and can't comprehend.

just to increase their post count! :grumpy: ;)

Ahh! Aardvark got me! Dang 60 second post rule! :D

Seriously, sometimes the unsigned red and grey chiclet hits were irritating, but it was my understanding that Spark was just going to change the rules so that those anonymous unsigned hits would not be permitted.

I didn't realize they were going away entirely. I liked being able to give "attaboy" rep points for a really good post.

Do I get rep points for that?

You bet! I'll send them to you by mail.

Anyway, just read Spark's message and guess it's the same old story: someone always screws up a good thing for everyone else. In this case a few folks trying to play the system and fake-enhance their own reps and the reps of their friends screw it up for the entire forum.
