Hold the ti-lite edge up. Use the guard's jimped side as a thumb ramp to thrust

Holy crap, this grip on the 6" ti lite is insane. Thanks for this post, I've had this knife for a couple months and never thought of trying that.

In the tactical situation discussed here the knife would most likely be held edge-up to begin with.

Interesting stuff.

Excellent lockup, even though its stiletto design it cuts well too. This would make really good self defense knife that could be used for utility work with no problems.I have a grivory model , for the price its amazing knife, opens as fast as automatic knife.I would have more confidence in using this knife for whatever task than many other knives that cost 3-4 times as much.

I find that for the vast majority of tasks that a folding knife would confront, the Ti-Lite is quite capable of handling them.
Opening boxes, envelopes, cartons, cutting string and packaging rope. It can slice tomatoes and salami very well. In an
emergency it can cut through a seat belt. So I can't blame anyone for choosing it as an EDC. The ONLY drawback I find is that is ever questioned, it simply does not look like a "work tool" or a "pocket knife" and will be seen as a"weapon". Which in turn, is an
advantage if it is ever needed for SD purposes. It's apprearance and blade style alone will likely assist in acting as a deterrent.

My Ti lite has seen more pocket time than any of my other knives, something about that blade just clicks with me. Like others have stated it performs surprisingly well at edc tasks. I opted for the 4" Zytel version on account of the modest weight and nice satin finish on the blade. Also as others have said for a piercer you really don't need anything higher end than AUS8A.

In a perfect world the Ti Lite would be available in a 5" mirror polished version. My only gripe with the thing is that 4"is too small for this style of blade and those 6" are overkill. Also I can't shake the feeling an Italian stiletto style blade should by definition have a mirror finish.

I can confirm that tomato and salami sliceyness it has. It makes a great kitchen knife, even though its blade is narrow and slim. Surpirsingly good at opening oysters or seafood, nuts (you can also easily crack them with the pommel or the"wave opener", frozen meat and can opening.

Mine is the 6in. one, for kitchen duties, mean meat cutter and veggie slicer!

I don't use mine for EDC, but like it a lot.

I can appreciate this sentiment. I have never bit because my use would be so restricted in town. But I will probably end up with a 6 incher simply for the play factor.
