Requesting review for Dark Ops fixed blade or folder

I just came across the thread after a search.

After reading about the roughness of the lock mechanism on the Stratofighter.....has anyone noticed a change in the smoothness of the lock after Darkops was shown this by everyone? I'm only wondering and not bickering in the least.

I've had fine service with my Stiletto Stratofighter with absolutely no disengagements of the lock up. I've had sand in mine, too. And little pebbles and sticks, etc.

But to be sure....is there someone who might tell me how to do a smoothing job on my knife (if it needs it?). I bought mine in early June. I'm good with hand tools but not much of a knife doctor if you get my drift. :) Meaning I' need to know exactly where to smooth out the right places on the Strato.

Also, after a couple of years of use, has a current review for this knife been written by anyone that you could point me to? I've read R. Brown's already. (thanks)

Yikes, now I have to sign off with my username...Darkops...cringe. :foot:

Thanks Much Y'all,

Darkop

I have in my collection an el cheapo Maxum liner lock. It's a big one, with a 5-inch blade. It locks so securely that when I flip it open, I have to use some sort of flat tool to push the linerlock back to close it. Because of its extraordinary lockup, I carry it on walks occasionally. A smaller version of the same knife does the same.

Hi Nixelplix,

I guess you have the best idea of all for my knife......leave it alone! Don't fix what is working well. Thanks.

It takes me one heckuva long while to sharpen this beast! ;) And I scratched the finish on the blade by letting it slip off the stone a few times. I had to temporarily remove the thumb studs so as to allow the entire blade to touch the stone and sticks when sharpening. :grumpy: But what the heck....

The Stratofighter has a durable blade but will double as one tough blunt weapon in a defensive fight; that's for sure!

Cheers,

Darkop
