I've been really craving something res-c.. for some dat gum reason I still have yet to even hold a res c blade.. I'm getting a super beater knife for batoning.. it will be rode hard and put away wet.. (literally).. I've seen infi rust under the scales when neglected. Will res c protect the tang better?
Thanks dudes

I think the tang has a coating on it to prevent rust, res-c is a magical material it’s the most comfortable handle you’ll ever use

There are many reasons why I prefer Res-C over slabs, but the question of rust under the handles is not one I've experienced any problems with. Surface oxidation just doesn't seem to go anywhere with INFI. With SR101 it might be a more significant problem--don't know.

I do know that several people over the years have used Basics as dive knives in salt water, with no reports I can recall of problems with rusting.

Its really too bad someone with a bunch of res c knives does not live like within 50 miles of you so you could at least hold one :(

He may tell you that with some of the knives he has had with res c none have rusted under the handle :)

The Hog was the first time I've held it in my hands. It's pretty much what I expected it to feel like - it sticks to your hand I assure you - Very comfy. already know what my next one will be with resC- something along the lines of a BB13 - killer combo for practicality.

My first Busse had res c handles, and I was really impressed they actually charge less for this stuff. It stays fresh longer than micarta, and slips a lot less than g-10(though their g-10 is a collector’s dream.)
Is the blade in post #6 considered “double-cut?”

Post #6 appears to be coated and I believe he has it listed as such in his add :-) And to add great person to deal with

Lol... it has crossed my mind ole buddy ole pal.. I gotta stop by again. I have a few models I'd like to feel in the hand before forking out the doe!! And a bad ass guy I'd like hang out with as well...

I only wish that I tried Res long time ago
You will love it trust all of the above on this

Rob,

I'm half tempted to send you SOMETHING with Res-C just because I think it's a misdemeanor to have been on this forum for as long as you have without at least handling the stuff.... Over 3yrs and it's bumped up to a felony and automatic suspension of forum privileges!!! Sure don't want that to happen to ya!!! Send me a PM and I'll send you a loaner until you can score something of your own!!!

I may have something I can spare for a few...

Rob...dude, one of the great things about res c; you never even have to see if there’s rust under there!
It’s Schrödinger’s oxidation

“ Stump Buster ”

Great pics :-) and very generous of you :-)

Gotta say though I love that SHe2 nestled in down at bottom of pic :-) I’ve got a weak spot for those lol.
