Res-C question..

Rob,

I'm half tempted to send you SOMETHING with Res-C just because I think it's a misdemeanor to have been on this forum for as long as you have without at least handling the stuff.... Over 3yrs and it's bumped up to a felony and automatic suspension of forum privileges!!! Sure don't want that to happen to ya!!! Send me a PM and I'll send you a loaner until you can score something of your own!!!

I may have something I can spare for a few...

I have never touched one either :(
Have a ds8 on the way though.
Gone through a big chunk of $ buying busse just to try and see how they fit.

I recently bought a res c handle knife to complete my busse and fam collection. From what I can see there is only 2 possible entry points for rust to develop and thats the lanyard hole area and the blade to handle area but they seem pretty tightly bound so I wouldn't worry about water seeping into these areas if they could. Its really comfortable and when it gets smashed about I slightly gasm. If you see one buy it because someone else for sure will. Cheers.

... I've seen infi rust under the scales when neglected. Will res c protect the tang better?
Thanks dudes

In late 2001 my first Busse was a Basic 9 – I still have it and it is still a favorite. I liked the knife so well I got a complete set of Basics back then (B3, B5, B7 & B9). A big reason I like the Basics so much is the Res C handles – the material and handle shape makes them very comfortable to use hard. The B3 & B5 have a smaller version of the Res C handle (same for the SY 311 & 511); some guys find the small handles too small, but for my medium size hands I like both the small Res C handles, and the larger ones like on the B7, B8, B9, B10 & B11, and same for the SY 711, 911, 1111 & 1311.

I agree with what Blade Boss said about the possibility of rust with a Res C handle. I would say the chance of rust developing under the handle is highly unlikely.

Buy that B8 LE and enjoy it!
