Which do you like for use? I not only prefer the feel of Res-C but I think knives seem to have cleaner lines that have it.

I think for a user it has to be Res-C all the way !!!

For a safe queen maybe Micarta !

I love res-c on my big choppers. However, remember that the res-c is more easily damaged by heat. Don't ask me how I know. :o

I only have one res c knife (howling rat with teeth) but I think I prefer micarta for its feel. I do not doubt that res c is grippier, though.

Res-C feels soooooooo good in the hand when choppin'..

Mark me down as a Res-C Fan!

The res-c handles are more utilitarian and ergonomic than the Micarta scales. The res-c grips seem to give and have more contact area with the palm and fingers.

If you want the looks, you can not beat the linen micarta.

IMO

I don't have a big chopper, but I love Res-C on my howler, and I wish SRKW brought back Camp Tramp or Battle Rat to production - with Res-C handles. SR 101 is field proven to me, and those two knives were just awesome.

I prefer wood or micarta over res-c myself ( res-c is excellent, I just find myself using and prefering the other materials more)

I'd go with res-c on large choppers, actually a designated choppers - I wouldn't say is big, but micarta on do it all knives like Chopweiler and TGLB and smaller ones.

My problem with res c is first I don't know how it would hold up if you did use a baton on the pommell, and second is whether it would cause blisters when used heavily without gloves. Those are the two main drawbacks I've seen with rubber handles.

Interesting. Necrothread, but I've never even heard of Res-C. I've obvioulsy heard of Micarta. Does that mean that Micarta MUST be superior to Res-C, given the time that has past since this thread was first posted?

I love Res C handles but my biggest fear is forgetting about it near the fire and the handles melting off so I ditched all of them that I owned.
I hit the handles alot when battoning if I get the blade stuck and G10 and micarta have held up real well from this, not sure if the rubber could take the big repeted hits.
Micarta all the way for me.....although I did keep 1 S5.
