Res-C vs. micarta?

I'm torn on this one. I initially liked the perfect grip on every res-c knife I own but I have experienced some Busse Micarta and I have a renewed love for it. I have been disapointed by other knifemakers micarta scales but my TMDSF and R9 have won me back over. They just feel great in hand and I know how bomb proof the stuff is. This contest is too hard for me to call.

I prefer res-c on a big chopper.

Theirs still just something about micarta and g10 i love though.

Nope... Micarta or G-10. That's "hand it down to the kids/grandkids/greatgrandkids stuff. Not sure Res-C is heirloom stuff. And I'm not interested in spending so much $$$ on knives I can't pass on for generations, or expect to survive a little heat now and then.

Both have their place. Res c works great and retains well even when wet or bloody. It also wont break. I like both. If a res c handle is destroyed I can always put another res c or go for a micarta, wood, bone or G- 10 on them.

I like both, have both, and think they should be an option for every blade made.

BUT

Give me a full tang to take into harm's way- a full tang and canvas micarta slabs. I want to be able to hammer a blade through concrete if I need to, and in an urban disaster I just might need to........
