The knife that originally led me to Bladeforums was the Ozark Hunter, made by Camillus for Cold Steel. I read an article about it in Tactical Knives of all places, and decided I had to have one. I bought a few examples of the Country Classics line from Cold Steel, their foray into the traditional market. I couldn't find the Ozark though. Bear Claw Chris Lappe commented in a thread that they were rare, but he was able to find one. A member here hooked me up about a year or so ago, and I found that the knife blade was great, the lock left a little to be desired but wasn't bad, but the delrin scales were a little lifeless. In the interim, I've had a few Queen Mountain Man models, both lockback and slipjoint. I've had a few actual Remingtons, including a 1303 from 1984 and a few 1306s from 1990. Acquiring and using an original Remington lockback hunter from the 30s is out of the question, at least right now. I was thinking of sending the Ozark out for some new scales. Either bone or micarta. I think that I'm going to go with bone. What kind of bone do you think would look good? Something similar to the original would be ideal. Also, I've forced a patina to the blade, so it must be durable. Who would you recommend on BF?
