Rescue Worker - What knife do you carry & use ?

Early on, I carried some kershaw cheapie folders, and some chinese garbage, which complimented my EMT shears adequately for a while.

I then carried a Benchmade AFO auto, and a Gerber multi tool on my belt, and a second Gerber multi tool in my turnout coat pocket. I used this set up for several years, until I was informed that it might be a good idea for me to leave the auto at home. (Politically correct Chief  )

When I retired in January, I was carrying a Gerber Legend 800, and an Emerson CQC-7A.

I suppose it is a matter of preference. I used my original Gerber multi tool most of the time, and since it had the regular knife blade, and a sheepsfoot blade, I rarely used my regular knife while at a working incident.

Benchmade Rescue Hook. I use mine only for clothing removal/seat belts (so far really only clothing). That way it is always sharp.

Any other quality knife for other work. Spyderco and Benchmade make good, solid and dependable knives. And Spyderco knives can be had for a reasonable price.
