Awhile back I found a very unusual rock. It was black with what appeared to be round fossils very close together. I gave it to a rockhound friend who has all kinds of rock saws polishers, etc.
He cut some slabs off but when he went to polish the rock it broke in pieces due to some hairline cracks through the rock.
I took part of the rock and ran it through my stabilization process with some wood. After the stabilization I took the rock back to my friend. He cut a slab and polished it. He was amazed and said it didn't seem like the same rock. It was hard and solid all the way through.
I knew Resinol 90C if used the right way did a excellent job stabilizing wood, evidently it will also stabilize some kinds of rock.
