Agreed on a price for a Benchmade Freek through the BF Exchange, and sent the funds through PayPal last Wednesday, 7/28/21. Still hasn't shipped the knife and not responding to any BF messages or emails.

I've said it before, and I will say it again now. As soon as a person indicates their willingness to accept F&F, they are immediately announcing that they are willing to break their agreements. Because we all agreed when signing up for PayPal that we would not ask for F&F payments for a good or service. If someone is willing to break their agreement with PayPal, why wouldn't they break their agreement with you as well?
 
If you used PayPal F&F, and the funds came from your credit card, you may be able to do a chargeback.
 
While it certainly looks bleak and likely is, I have had sellers before that were just lousy sellers and not thieves. They eventually sent the knives, but were very slow and poor on communication.
Regardless-Thanks for the warning . No one should do business with him until this is cleared up.

NEVER use friends and family. adding 3 percent is the only way to ensure you dont get ripped off.
 
It's easy to read it as having used F&F.

bax229 bax229 , if you used G&S, then why not involve BF staff?

Thanks for the comments...This thread was just a heads up for members to not do business, G&S, F&F, or whatever with J Jtango

He's obviously been on here tonight and seen this...that was my point. Still hasn't reached out. I'm moving on.

Don't do business with someone who registered 6 weeks ago and has only posted items For Sale in the For Sale Forums.

If you do business with anyone- Use a payment option with recourse if they fail to deliver.

The 2 constant sources of fraud are- Paying in full before the knife is made and Paying with PayPal F+F.

It's like a fire you started in your yard to smoke out the rat, but then you brushed it onto the sidewalk and said you're moving on, let the pedestrians deal with it.

I see it like this. You made it and his private contact info public, and his reputation is on the line. So it doesn't just go away for J Jtango , who has a rapidly decreasing window of credibility during which to make a public reply (i.e. time is of the essence to say something). People do the right things for the wrong reasons sometimes and sometimes they do the wrong thing for what they think are the right reasons. And some can even see their mistakes and want to make good. There are always two sides and seeing both will proves the justice of the case. So, you know, no pressure, friends. ;)
