Respect 8 inch blade

I am really mystified that the Spyderco community has not jumped on this. An 8 inch bladed Spyderco is unusual and it is most likely a new fixed blade model. Of what type, I cannot say.

I too am surprised by the silence here. I would love to know more and am surprised others are not curious too.

"Casual Bombshell". Could be a Bowie type? Maybe some sort of respectful nod to Randall?

Hi,

I guess I spoke a bit early, so I can't say too much,

Fixed blade, made in Golden.

Sneaky sneaky haha I didn't ask cause I figured as much.

How cool would that be to hang out with Sal and just check out all the projects and blades

There are plenty of 8 inch carbon steel blades. Tough stainless, not so much.

Why would you want stainless in a knife that size? I could be wrong but personally I dont think any stainless can approach the toughness of even a mid level carbon steel.

Because there are a number of carbon offerings at that size through many other companies. I'd like a tool steel, semi-stainless, or stainless. Tough steels in these categoried exist, and it would be nice to see some offerings using something that I don't have to oil everytime I bring it outside.

Only 10.5".

Sal saying this is a Golden knife is pretty exciting. I wonder if we will see something like K390 or 10V?
