Well, this thread and this thread got me thinking about lung protection. I always wore either a thin paper mask or a cheap half-face mask, and googles, while in the shop - thought it was enough as I don't have a grinder...I'm working by hand with files and sandpaper. Those were very uncomfortable, but, I prefered a little discomfort to no protection.
That was before...before I received the full face 3M mask (6800). This thing is so comfortable! I received it late yesterday, and kept it on all last evening to watch TV with my wife (she was "a little" discombobulated). I scared the hell out of my kids this morning when I woke them up wearing the mask
I found my halloween costume for this year.

If you're starting in knifemaking and wondering what kind of protection you should have, this 3M mask is a pretty good option, me think. And pretty cheap too (under $100)! Just wanted to share my joy!
