So i have been a bad camper and have not been using a respirator for awhile. Im pretty sure at this point down the line i will have some sort of cancer at some point unless i can find a way to get a magnet in my lungs to remove everything.

I want your opinions on the best respirators. The last one I got was from home depot and it was a piece of shit that had a garbage plastic strap system that broke. so it needs to be of a good make that wont have the straps break

I want opinions on comfort and stuff. Are full facemasks any better? do they offer impact protection as well?

Are there systems that have a more easy to replace cartridge ? or even better yet a re-usable cartridge that you can like clean out in the sink?

I've got a 3m 6300 and 2097 cartiges from an ebay seller who had them for $4 a pack free shipping, just got it a few months ago.

I use a Trend Airshield. Page is correct, it's one of the few breathing protectors
that will work with a beard.

After having a piece of grinder grit bounce inside my safety glasses and into my right eye socket I've gone to face shields. Used the 3M face mask for a year or two but have gone to the positive air pressure face shield:

because it works with my beard and glasses. Looks like it's about the same thing Sunshadow is using. About the same price ($325). I believe I'll be able to just pull the course and fine filters out and wash/dry/reinsert. And yes TRY BEFORE YOU BUY if at all possible - different face shields fit different head sizes.

Hi there, i sell safety equipment for a living and have done so for the last 7 or so years.

Firstly I would say a full face mask is overkill, unless you want the eye protection and dont want to wear safety glasses or goggles.
Full face masks are generally used around organic and inorganic gasses and vapours, not nessacarily dusts and thermally generated particles (which you need protection from). For comfort sake i would suggest a 3M 7000series silicone half face mask and some good safety glasses or goggles. (even a visor)

If you were a customer and called me up, I would reccomend you go with a 3M half face mask (either 6000series rubber. or 7000 silicone is fine), and you need the 3M 6035 Toxic Particulates Cartridges.

Any of the 3M filters that cover particulates, and prefrebly thermally generated particles is what you want. (2125, 2135, 2128, 2138, 2076 & 6035)
you would need an adaptor to run the above "2000 series filters" with a half face mask, but thats no drama. if you want to go that route you would also need the 3M filter adaptor 502

I work at a nickle smelter and we a required to wear respirators all day in some instances, so finding a comfortable and proper fitting respirator is important. The 3M half masks are the best bang for your buck the 7000 blue silicon one is the best for comfort and seal , the pink filters are very reasonably priced, and when they get dirty you can vacuum them.

How many times have you changed the plastic cover?

If you are referring to the shield, never. I bought a pack of thin plastic covers that adhere to the face shield. Those get changed out about twice a year or when they become too scuffed.

I use the Airshield pro, same idea, 2 filters, no prefilters, I make prefilters by buying filtrete sheets and sewing up a cover over each filter
