Respirators

So is the general consensus that with a beard it's forced air or nothing? I typically use a half mask but I know I'm not getting a full seal. I'm trying to decide if I should shave it all off since I don't have hundreds to spend, lol.

I have a small beard and have had issues with the 3M 7000 series not making a good seal. I have a friend that works at a local chemical plant and he dropped off a Scott exel half mask and 6 packs of filters for me. That is what they use there. I have to say that the Scott seals up sooo much better than the 3m did for me.

The 3M I have came with a bag. It's like a cross of plastic/breathable. Kinda like those cheap backpacks that just have the 2 strings that go over your back.
 
3m breathe easy papr w/ an m-105 full shield mask ... Most amazing filter system on the planet (well, there may be others lol). It's soo comfortable wearing all day long, one of the best investments I made!

If you have facial hair I would either shave or get a papr... Not worth taking the risk and getting lung cancer
