Retaliatory feedback

You were so busy being clever and whining, you missed the important part of Esav's post. I have provided emphasis.

It is not that BF does not want to customize the system. It is that it cannot be customized. iTrader is third party software.

Thank you, for the clarification.

Spark, has actually reversed the negative feedback that was left for both Eye Dog, & Rio, so hopefully he will do the same here.

It requires changing the setting manually.

You want to be real careful addressing a grumpy old creatures. They bite.

I said nothing untrue and nothing lacking class. I pointed out that you missed the most important part of Esav's post .

edited to remove extraneous comment.

This has been a very serious problem, for far too long!

We look to you moderator's for support. It get's a little frustrating, seeing an ongoing problem like this, continue to affect some of our stellar, supporting member's.

Edit: Thank you for the PM, knarfeng- I think I have a better appreciation for the situation now. I'm still hoping that Tom's negative feedback can be reversed, I apologize if I'm not helping the situation.

More breathing exercises. ;)

Stop poking the moderators about retaliatory feedback. We have no access to the system to change it. What is the use of taking your frustrations out on us?

Same thing recently happened to me, except the guy who did mine, was way worse. I started a thread in tech support asking Spark to clear it up at the advise of Morrow too. Hopefully, Spark will take care of it soon. I feel for your pain Mercyfulfate. Hope yours gets cleared up soon as well.

Thank you Sir for the kind words, Hopefully Spark will come in a deal with yours as well.

I just want the negative removed, it was unjustly put there.

That may be some sound advice. I personally believe that having a feedback system here is invaluable. From what I have gathered in my simple head is that Spark doesn't really care for the hassles that come along with having the feedback system at all. If this crap continues, I would hate to see the system go away completely.

Yes, it is complete B.S. to have feedback like what was left in this case and I would be pissed if it was done to me. I don't know what the answer is....

The answer, the solution, is for Spark to have the time he used to have. BFC has had a slew of technical problems.

We know newbies don't know all our rules, but they jump right in and mess up, thinking we are the same as the last place they hung out. That is where a lot of our moderating is generated. This just happens to be less accessible than, say, posting in the wrong forum.

Corskin, your right, threads like this make it far to easy to say "forget it" and just dump the system. Abuse of the system will happen no matter how its set up, people are generally cranky and its the easiest way to jab.

In my opinion the system needs a function where the Mods can see that an unwarranted negative feedback has been issued due to a person that has simply gotten upset for whatever reason (especially when no transaction has taken place) and can then be reversed simply by reviewing the case and clicking a button to correct things.

Im a Mod on a Guitar forum that has Itrader software and the only one that can do anything is the owner. And he hates messing with it.

I agree, it's the same way here. Spark is the only administrator and he isn't going to hand it over to just any of us. It would take a lot to make that happen and this is his baby and he has gotten it to where it is today. I respect his decision to keep more control over the place to himself. I do really wish that we could do more to help him to make this place even better, I know we could really kick it up a level or two if we tried. I'm sorry all the frustration that this has caused you. I value my reputation as well (despite being a supermod), I started out buying more than selling and it ended up that way. I make sure if I commit to a deal I honor it, no matter what. If I miss out on something that I wanted because something came up and I was too slow to pay up, I understand and would issue an apology.

I've been very lucky. I have had 3 different members hold items for me while I got the money together. They were under no obligation to do it either. But I honored my commitment. That is all we have on the forum, our word. In the end, tarnishing someone;s reputation for a misunderstanding is unwarranted, and can be resolved by calm communication and having clear and understood sales terms. When people allow for too much flexibility people get butthurt and silly things ensue. I always try to stick to my sales terms, and I make things clear from the beginning so no misunderstandings can happen. CYA all the way!

Rev, that was a very honest and intelligent post. The Mods do a great job here for sure. As much as I watch what I do and say I have been issued a couple of warnings (Language). The Traffic that goes through Guitar Forums are all over the place, you have your regulars and all around good people then you have the Immature (Kids) People that cause all kinds of chaos.
Everybody needs a helping hand, and im quite sure that the Mods here could certainly help Spark out in more ways than the few or more than they already do.

Thanks man.
