On a similar note the (relatively new) common practice of carrying folding utility knives, many of which have a "push button flip open" design. This push button flip opening is by many law enforcement agencies considered a "gravity knife". So much so that New York city has publicly sent law enforcement officers with members of the press in tow to remove them from the shelves of Home Depot stores. So many non knife people are unaware of the illegality of certain types of knives in their home states it frightens me for them.
