Rethinking the Multi-Tool

i carry a leatherman skeletool with me everywhere, use it to open buckets, take off and put on license plates, remove antenna's, unloosen bolts, puncture buckets and whatever else.

All of the Victorinox multi-tools are great especially if you are looking for something smaller and lightweight. I have owned a few of them and I would definitely recommend them

I keep a Leatherman Skeletool CX in my backpack at all times and have a case for all the bit attachments, both of which get stored in my outer backpack pocket at all times. It's very functional and the Skeletool CX has a great selection of abilities, the blade isn't shabby and the skeletonizing really reduces the typical beefy Leatherman weight.

i dont know how many of you are facebookers, but there is a leatherman group on there. the skeletool has had some problems with the pliers snapping due to them being too thin. so now they make bigger pliers for it. but i like how its small multitool. so i wanted to keep it the way it is. gotta know the limits of the tool you are using. otherwise get a bigger stronger tool.

i like how its small and has a pocket clip. so its easy to access and not too big.

I carry a Leatherman Wave whenever I have my pants on, I use it pretty much on a daily basis at work and play. So much so, that I have to clean the grit and grime from it at least weekly (nothing like that scratchy-gritty feel when you open up your multi for use.) I have basically spent two pairs in the past 7 or 8 years and currently have one in reserve. I have actually been on my way to work and realized that I had forgotten it and turned around to go back for it. In short, I am pro-multi. I think if there were a BK&T-Multi available, I would be persuaded to jump Leathermans ship.

I use to carry one everyday, but I used it everyday also. Now a day I carry it in my EDC bag for those just in case instances.

Used to carry my Wave daily, but found that when I needed it, I usually just needed the knife.

It resides in my daily backpack but generally at home or work I've got screwdrivers and pliers around so I don't go for it often. Definitely a good backup for your bag, but too big for EDC...
