I really like that last one the saipan Reuben. Hey did you ever get the pics that I sent to you when you e-mailed me last a couple of weeks back?

Looks like an excellent time, Bear, thanks for sharing.

BTW, Mick, here, abo is a positive label, at least amongst myself and my friends (including 'use to be Quiet Bear' :D). I guess it all goes back to what Bill says about "What's in a name....."

A friend of mine who is a First Nations man, when asked how people should refer to him, replied that he didn't care as long as there was no malice intended.

This is inherently the problem when communication is solely by the written word.

I do not for one moment think that Bear meant any disrespect

Since a fair few of my mentors in outdoor living have been Aboriginal elders, and I have directly benefited by their wisdom, I wanted to make sure that the difference in the meaning of the word over here was clear, with no room for misunderstanding.

Doc, if you ever make it over to Oz, let me know. I'm sure there's a pub with our name on it :D

Kind regards
Mick

Mick,

Just found out I will be there again in December (summer). I think you are in Melblourne, right. We must hang out.

Never any disrespect on my part!

Thanks.

G'day Bear

I'm in the Central Tablelands of NSW.

If you can make it (and my family & work commitments allow), I'd love to take you bush for a week :D

Kind regards

I doubt that I will ever make it over there, but if I do, expect a phone call.
