Not sure of the actual weight but the thing's like a feather. WAY under a pound for sure.

Fact is it doesn't take a great deal of heat to affect the temper of aluminum, so while the shape of your helmet may not be changed, its protective qualities may be diminished.
That's the SkullBucket. I first saw them on Ax Men. They aren't rated for use around electricity, of course. Take a look at the Fibre-Metal Roughneck hardats & MSA Skull Gard hardhats. Both are ironworker favorites...
Lol, its a great idea, but I couldn't picture myself running into ppl wearing that thing on the trail. ppl would think I'm trying to keep UFOs from reading my brainwaves![]()
Actually it's a vintage Fiber-Metal UltraLight. Didn't get it for use as a hardhat, as I mentioned previously.
With regards to sweat/smell, the helmet itself never touches my head due to the paracord suspension, and I would obviously clean it out after it did cooking duty. Just about anytime I'm boiling water...there's coincidentally a water source nearby. Who'd of thunk it?![]()
